# Payouts

What each member has earned in commission, what has been paid, what is still outstanding, and how to record a payout.

Payouts tracks commission as a liability: what each member has earned, what you have paid them and what is still owed. Owners and admins also record payouts here.

## Who can open it

Payouts needs the **Pro** plan. On Basic you are sent to [My Board](/docs/features/my-board) with an upgrade note.

The page sits in the management area, so it opens for owners, admins and ops, and for members allowed to view team end-of-day reports. What you see depends on your role:

- **Owners and admins** see every member's figures and can record payouts.
- **Everyone else who can open the page** sees their own row only, and cannot record payouts.

## Liability for a month

The page opens on last month. Use the arrows to move between months, up to the current one. The table shows, for each member with commission:

| Column | What it is |
|---|---|
| This period | Commission earned in the selected month |
| Total earned | Commission earned across all time |
| Total paid | Every payout recorded for them |
| Outstanding | Total earned less total paid |
| Status | Paid, Part paid, Awaiting payout, Overpaid or Not calculated |

Liability is calculated from calls scheduled in the month and is read-only. Owners and admins can open any member's line-by-line breakdown, and everyone else can open their own. It shows each deal, the role held and the rule that priced it.

Whether commission counts every reported payment or only payments a processor confirmed depends on the **Commission basis** setting under [Tools](/docs/settings/tools). Changing it recalculates future payouts, not past ones.

Two notices can appear above the table:

- **Former members still owed** lists people who have left but still have a balance. They stay in the table, marked Left, until it clears.
- **Commission could not be calculated** means one or more rows show a placeholder and are left out of the totals, so the totals are incomplete.

## Recording a payout

Owners and admins use **Record a payout**. Choose the team member and the period, then enter the amount actually paid, the payment method and optional notes. The preview beside the form shows commission owed, what has already been paid, and what will be outstanding before and after this payout. The amount owed is always calculated by PYLO, never typed in.

## Payout history

**Payout history** lists every payout recorded, newest first, with the period, amount owed, amount paid, status, method, notes and date. Where end-of-day compliance was captured with the payout it is shown too.

The export button downloads the liability table as a CSV.

## Common questions

**Why does a row show Not calculated?** PYLO could not work out that member's commission, so it shows a placeholder rather than a figure that reads as nothing owed.

**Why does a compliance figure show a reason instead of a percentage?** If the member had no working days in the period there is nothing to measure, so PYLO says so rather than showing 100%.

## What the figures mean

Each explanation below is generated from PYLO's metric registry, the same source Ask PYLO and Claude quote from, so the docs and their answers always agree.

### Liability

#### Commission earned

Commission across all three tiers on every succeeded payment attributed to this member, net of refunds, whatever its verification status.

- **Shown to:** owners, admins and ops.

#### Commission on verified cash

The same three tiers counting only payments marked verified or grandfathered, and using the verified amount where one is recorded.

- **Shown to:** owners, admins and ops.

#### Days on the team

Calendar days in the period from this rep's hire date onward, or every day of the period when the hire date is earlier than it. Zero for a rep hired after the period ended, which is the case that has no compliance figure.

- **Shown to:** owners and admins.

#### End-of-day reports filed

Distinct dates in the period on which this rep filed an end-of-day report. Two reports for one date count once, because the denominator counts days.

- **Shown to:** owners and admins.

#### Start-of-day reports filed

Distinct dates in the period on which this rep filed a start-of-day report, meaning a daily_activity row of kind bod.

- **Shown to:** owners and admins.

#### EOD compliance

Days this rep filed an end-of-day report as a share of the days they were on the team in the period.

- **Counts:** End-of-day reports filed, out of Days on the team.
- **Shown to:** owners and admins.

#### BOD compliance

Days this rep filed a start-of-day report as a share of the days they were on the team in the period. The same denominator as EOD compliance, so the two are comparable.

- **Counts:** Start-of-day reports filed, out of Days on the team.
- **Shown to:** owners and admins.
