# Approvals

Choose which plans need a person, how approval codes reach you, and approve small changes in advance.

Approvals decides how the plans an agent makes for this workspace are approved. PYLO sorts every plan into a class by what it would change. It never takes the agent's word for it.

## Who can open it

Owners and admins can see it. Only an owner can change the policy or grant a standing approval. An owner or an admin can revoke a standing approval.

## The four classes

| Class | What it covers | Default |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Internal | PYLO's own settings: targets, end of day questions, launch items, templates, flows and recipes in shadow. | Applies with the apply permission |
| Reversible, in the client's tools | CRM fields and statuses, tags, custom values, channels, tool settings. | A person approves, in the app or by chat code |
| Hard to reverse | Publishing, giving or removing access, merging records, turning a flow or a workspace live. | A person approves, in the app or by chat code |
| People and money | Anything that changes a price, a commission or a currency, or messages people. | A person approves, in the app or by chat code |

A plan takes the class of its most serious change. For any class you can require the app only, and then no code is ever sent for it. Only internal plans can be set to apply without a person.

## Chat codes

When a plan needs a person, the agent can ask PYLO to send a code. PYLO sends a six digit code to your own push notifications, email or Slack (Slack only when yours is linked), on the channels you tick here. The message says exactly what the code approves. Type it into the conversation only if that is what you want. Each code lasts 10 minutes, works once and only for the version of the plan it was sent for. After five wrong codes the plan's codes stop working and a new one has to be sent.

## Standing approvals

An owner can approve one class of small changes in advance, for example reminder timings and tags during a launch week. Choose internal or reversible, a number of days (at most 14) and what it is for. Plans in that class then apply without a code until it ends, and each one is listed in your inbox. Hard to reverse changes and anything touching people or money always need a person. Revoke a standing approval at any time; plans already applied under it stay applied.

## From your agent

An agent can read this page's settings with `get_approval_policy`. It can ask for a change with `set_approval_policy` or `grant_standing_approval`, but nothing changes until you type the code PYLO sends you.
