# Rep levels

How to set up levels for closers, setters and SDRs, with expected KPIs, a default commission and a base pay range.

Rep levels lets you describe the career steps in your sales team. Each level belongs to one role (closer, setter or SDR) and can carry the KPIs you expect at that level, a default commission rate and a base pay range. Once levels exist, you assign one to each rep on the Team page.

## Who can open it

Owners, admins and ops users on the Pro plan. Anyone else is sent back to Account, and a workspace on Basic is sent to its board with an invitation to upgrade. See [Billing](/docs/settings/billing) to change plan.

## The page

The page has one section each for closer levels, setter levels and SDR levels. The line at the top counts your levels and how many roles they cover. An empty section suggests a starting shape, such as Junior, Core and Senior for closers, or L1 and L2 for setters and SDRs.

Each level shows its name, any tenure line under the name, its expected KPIs, its default commission and its base pay range. A missing commission or pay range shows the pending dash.

## Add a level

1. Choose `Add level` in the section for the role.
2. Enter a `Name`, for example "Senior".
3. Set a `Sort order`. Levels in a section are listed from the lowest number to the highest.
4. Optionally enter a `Default commission` as a percentage, for example 12.
5. Optionally enter a `Base pay range` as free text, for example "£2,200 to £3,000".
6. Optionally fill in `Expected KPIs`, one per line as `key: value`, for example `close rate: 45%`. A line starting `tenure` shows under the level name instead of in the KPI list.
7. Choose `Save level`.

## Edit or delete a level

Choose `Edit` on a level to change any field, then `Save level`. To remove one, choose `Delete` and confirm with the second `Delete` button.

## What changes elsewhere

Levels you create here become the options you can assign to a rep from their development tab on [Team](/docs/features/team). The rate a rep is actually paid comes from their own rate on Team and any rules in [Commission](/docs/settings/commission).
