Chat

Chat

The team's own chat inside PYLO, with leads, calls, payments and bookings you can mention and open.

Read as Markdown

Chat is where the sales team talks: reps, the operator and the coach, in place of Slack or Discord. Alerts can still go to Slack or Discord if you have them connected; Chat is for people writing to people.

Chats

  • All team. Every workspace has one group with the whole team in it. It keeps itself in step with the team: someone you add to the team joins it, and someone removed or deactivated leaves it. Their old messages stay under their name.
  • Groups. Owners, admins and ops make groups from New chat, name them and choose who is in them. The Group button on an open group renames it, adds or removes people, or leaves it.
  • Direct messages. Anyone can start a one to one with anyone on the team from New chat. A pair always has the same one.

The list shows each chat's last message and how many you have not read. The Chat link in the sidebar carries your unread count too.

Writing

  • Mention a person by typing @ and picking their name. They see the message marked for them, and get a notification even if they muted the chat.
  • Mention a record by typing # and searching for a lead's name, email or phone. Pick the lead, or one of their calls, payments or bookings. The picker only offers records you can open.
  • A mentioned record shows under the message as a card with its key details (a call's time and outcome, a payment's amount and status, and so on). Tap it to open the lead.
  • Everyone sees the same message, but each person sees a card only for a record they could already open. A setter who was not on a payment sees A record you do not have access to in its place.
  • A lead mentioned in Chat is noted on that lead's timeline: who mentioned it and when, never the message itself.
  • Attach files: images, PDFs, text and CSV files, calendar invites and Office documents, up to 10 MB each and 5 to a message.
  • Reply quotes the message you are answering. React adds one of the claim and status reactions teams use (a phone to claim a lead, a tick when it is done).
  • Edit and Delete are on your own messages only. An edited message says Edited; a deleted one says Message deleted.
  • Enter sends, and Shift and Enter starts a new line.

Notifications

  • New messages arrive on their own. The list says Live while PYLO's live connection is open; when it is not, the page checks every few seconds instead.
  • If you turned on notifications in the rep app, a new message notifies you when you are not looking at Chat. The notification says who wrote and where, never what they wrote.
  • Mute a chat to stop its notifications. Mentions of you still come through.

Search finds messages in the chats you are in, by any word or by the name of a person or lead mentioned.

Who can read what

You read the chats you are in. Owners and admins can also let their AI agent read the workspace's chats (list_chats and get_chat_thread); no agent can post in Chat.
